RETRACTION: HPV Vaccination Now Mandatory In Texas

As noted by readers and Sen. Eltife's staff, this story is indeed several years old, and the HPV Vaccination is NOT required for girls entering the sixth grade.

This story was assigned as a research project for a prospective reporter, and was not intended for posting. We apologize to our readers for the error.

Would it be mean of me to ask...? Is Upshur completely cut off from the rest of the civilized world?? Your article bears a 2009 date yet, if you'll notice, Perry's executive order was signed in February 2007. I think you guys should seriously consider posting a retraction. After all, one only has to Google the subject to find out that since the signing of Perry's order in 2007, the order was challenged in the courts, and subsequently overturned. Please do your research next time.

Srsly. WTF. This happened two years ago, and it was always something people could say no to. As your other commenter noted, this worked its way through the system already.
