GALA Board Disapointed Over Impeachment Drive

Attorney says legal ramifications will be the board's last resort.

GLENWOOD ACRES -- If there is anything that the Glenwood Acres Landowners Association Board and disgruntled residents can agree on, it is that things need to change.

Tim Caricker, the attorney hired to represent the landowners association in deed enforcement actions, said yesterday that the board hasn't targeted anyone, and is instead engaged in righting problems related to deed restrictions that have been allowed to go uncorrected for too long.

Caricker says that board members don't want to take anyone to court, and called attention to the six month grace period included in clean-up demands the board has made of some residents. He said that allowed residents until May of this year to comply.

Commenting on the impeachment drive to oust board president, Jason Lundy, Caricker said "The board is disappointed that it has received this response to what they are trying to do, which is to clean up Glenwood Acres".

He also said the board was aware that petition leader Russell McFadin had been cleaning up his lot, saying "The board acknowledges Mr. McFadin's efforts, and we encourage him to continue those efforts".

According To McFadin, though, what needs to be cleaned up is the board itself, starting with the removal of Lundy.

McFadin will need 20% of the association's members to sign the petition in order to force an impeachment vote, but no one is sure what the exact number of signatures that needs to be.

During an informal meeting of petition supporters Sunday, McFadin said that the board had been unwilling or unable to provide him with a count of members in good standing, or their names.

Caricker said the board is in the process of generating that list, but it has been complicated by the need to not only identify the members in good standing, but also to determine which of them have gotten married or divorced, since the spouses of members have votes as well.

Well today is a new day my hope is that a new error will start in the resolve of issues and matters so that our community can get back to some order thru the divide that was caused as dramatic measures was taken at great lengths and cost to ensure peoples rights.
Now we that are in temporary place have a daunting task at hand . We ask for input and insight as this is not our personal business but is the business of all that are in this subdivision.
we have 5 committees that need to be fill that is at least 25 spots I know that there are folks who want to help make these changes as I was asked by the many many folks that have called or come and seen me or has stopped and spoke to me on these matters. Now i ask of you to help in the cause of the change.
There are many different ways to help in these. This change will not happen without the help of the citizens of this community.
This current temporary board realizes and we do understand we are the stewards of your money it is not for our personal gains and or a platform of whom to clean up the acres.
Yes we do need to and I say we I included clean up all of our properties and by this I will say just from my own point of view now.

In order to lead you must lead by example and from this point I mean that if the associations boards past prior and this current new temp. one .The biggest cause of dissension in the split of the community was the platform that Lundy spoke of was to clean up the subdivision. You will always have resistance in life if you cannot do what you ask of others.Lead by example.I feel that there are some specific points that needs to be addressed if a board wants its citizens to do anything.Clean your own backyard up.Every one is of the same opinion I believe that these dilapidated and burned empty properties has to be dealt with.I do have a plan that I will bring forth on how to resolve these matters so they can be removed at the very least cost to the people and a way in which to reacquire the monies back for these properties so that in the end so that it cost the people no monies.

Also in closing I want to say a special thanks to all the new faces that was at the meeting yesterday even if your voting rights were held back it was so important that your voice was heard as several were there for representation of there families and friends or there neighbors.
I know that some of the men I seen are leaders in there neighborhoods
and i personally ask that you men and ladies as well sorry help to fill these sub committees seats.Help to bring our community together and lets all hear what the people want to do here. For the people By the people and of the people.Cause in the end it is about the people here. Not one group or party.
As far as me serving on this temp. board I am happy to do this if its what the people want if not then speak out.If you believe in me let your voice and support be heard.I will stay only as long as the people want me to.If you the people family friends neighbors and there neighbors want to enjoin me and place me on the board by nominating me and supporting me and encourage all to vote.If you the people have a specific place on the board that y'all would like to see one you can speak of that that would only be an opinion as our bylaws say that the board votes the position of its members. But we are in a new error of things and this temporary.board ask and encourage your ideas and opinions so when the election committee is set with its members and we start this process voice yourself about who your new leaders should be as well as what you expect of them.

Thanks and have a great day;

Russell McFadin
