Crime Stoppers Target September Fires

Information sought on six fires set in a two day period last month.

Gilmer - The Upshur County Fire Marshal and Upshur County Crime Stoppers are seeking tips and information on a spate of fires set across the county. A $5000 reward is offered.

The Upshur County Fire Marshal`s Office is requesting assistance with the investigation of six suspicious fires in Upshur County, which occurred between the late hours of September 17, 2008 and the early hours of September 18, 2008.

During that time fires occurred at the following locations:

1. FM 2088 @ Great Dane Road - Storage trailer fire.

2. 7987 Aster Road - House fire.

3. 2100 Red Maple Road - Structure fire (Old Church building).

4. FM 1795 @ Live Oak Road - Latch Community Center building.

5. FM 556 North of FM 852 - Hay bale on fire.

6. Jaguar Road - Barn fire.

Upshur County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) involved.
